IDDS Committees
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Membership Committee consists of a group of volunteer dentists with the common goal of making membership in organized dentistry a valuable experience. This committee recruits and retains members through evaluating and implementing various membership programs. Such programming includes providing CE opportunities, hosting membership social events, and acting as the intermediary between members and IDDS leadership.
NEW DENTIST COMMITTEE
The New Dentist Committee addresses the needs and interests of dentists who are in their first 10 years of practice. This committee engages dentists in leadership and strives to determine and implement what brings value to organized dentistry for younger dentists. Such implementations include networking events for mentorship and job opportunities, social events to connect like-minded individuals, and CE opportunities hosted by other young dentists.
COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE
The Communications Committee is the newest committee to IDDS- established in 2021. This team focuses its efforts on strategies for communicating information with members in the most efficient and effective manner. The main focuses of the committee include updating the IDDS website, establishing a social media presence, and publishing The Dateline membership magazine.
PEER REVIEW COMMITTEE
The Peer Review Committee is a mediation program between dentists and their patients over quality of dental care disagreements. The purpose of the committee is to review the disputes and propose solutions satisfactory to both parties. The Peer Review members are mediation-trained dentists that work with both parties involved to reach a mutually-satisfactory resolution for the dentist and the patient.
